001: captain russeaux makes his way to asteroid B612

My inspiration for Captain Russeaux came from one of my favorite books, The Little Prince. The Little Prince comes to earth from asteroid B612 and encounters adults for the first time. He realizes how strange they are, so consumed by their desires for money, power, and admiration.

The Little Prince learns that “what is essential is invisible to the eye” and nothing matters more than love. As we get older we allow pressures from family, friends, and society to shape us into their ideal versions of success, while silencing our true dreams within.

Captain Russeaux represents that internal desire to abandon the expectations put on us as we grow, and to return to a place of authenticity, love, and presence. We can do the same at any time.
